Female Banyan Tree vs Male Banyan Tree.
We have lot of Banyan trees around our farm, some of them go straight up and some of them are wide. Initially I thought they might be from different breed but the old wise farmers told me that the straight ones are females and the wide ones are males.
Interestingly, the Male Banyan trees bear fruits during winter and the females bear fruits during summer. Male tree fruits are rarely eaten by birds or squirrels, this might be because of the abundant food during winter or the fruit might not taste good. The female tree fruits which pops out during summer is gobbled up; different type of birds come from different places to feed on female fruit trees, squirrels are happily feasting on these female fruits.
During summer there is scarcity of food for these animals and the female Banyan tree takes care of the nature at the most needed hour!
