Poppy seeds are commonly called Khas Khas. The tiny kidney-shaped seeds have been harvested from dried seed pods. The seeds are used, whole or ground, as an ingredient in many foods - especially in pastry and bread, and they are pressed to yield poppyseed oil.
Benefits of using khas khas : Poppy seeds are effective in quenching thirst, fever, inflammation, constipation and irritation of the abdomen. As an Ayurvedic medicine, these seeds are sometimes grounded into a paste with milk to form a skin-renewing moisturizer. Poppy seeds contain Linoleic acid that is beneficial in preventing heart disorders and abdomen conditions.
