Answer: The colour of the egg (brown or white) is determined by the breed of the hen, not by nutrition.Shell colour usually corresponds to the feather colour of the bird.

Brown Eggs

  • Laid by specific breeds (often brown-feathered hens)
  • Usually slightly larger in size
  • Common in commercial farming

Nati White Eggs

  • From native country breeds
  • Typically smaller in size
  • Often raised in more traditional or free-ranging systems

Important Clarification:

  • Nutritionally, brown and white eggs are almost the same.
  • Shell colour does not determine protein content or health value.

What really matters is:

  • The bird’s diet
  • Living conditions
  • Freshness of the egg

Many people prefer native eggs because of taste, yolk texture, and traditional rearing methods — not because of shell colour.
